For the first time, a robot passed a medical licensing exam

jakathine:

“Xiaoyi, an AI-powered robot in China, for example, has recently taken the national medical licensing examination and passed, making it the first robot to have done so. Not only did the robot pass the exam, it actually got a score of 456 points, which is 96 points above the required marks….[…]

‘“We will officially launch the robot in March 2018. It is not meant to replace doctors. Instead, it is to promote better people-machine cooperation so as to boost efficiency,” iFlytek chairman Liu Qingfeng told China Daily.

So if you lived in a society where you had to secure your communication in order to be yourself around others, here are the apps that could help you do that.

Signal let’s you securely text and make phone calls.

Onion Browser allows you to surf the web without leaving a trail.

Duck Duck Go isn’t super secure but it won’t record your searches like Google.

ProtonMail is a email client that lets you email other secure email accounts.

Periscope allows you to stream live video.

Semaphor is there so you can securely make group chat rooms.

American privacy laws allow you to use these all. So that’s pretty cool.

Because we’re currently living in the prologue of a cyberpunk dystopian novel, imma reblog this.

@seananmcguire quoted me on Twitter. Today is a good day. Also, 70% of my top 10 best days of my life now involve Seanan.

So clearly I need invitations to the wedding, the Christening, and the governmental overthrow.

… Just out of curiosity, what are the odds of a jilted faerie curse if you don’t receive an invitation and your own golden plate? Hypothetically I’m sure.

Ever been an equal volume of spiders?

heres a neat little quiz for getting your real life stats

http://www.kevinhaw.com/add_quiz.php

tell me what you get

heres my fucking embarrassing textbook nerd stats

I would ask to reroll me.

Looks like I’m rolling a particularly death prone bard!

Damn. The Mun’s Dex is too low to be an Assassin.

Ironically the mun is completely incapable of being a psionic warrior as my con is too low, though I would not be a bad wizard or psion.

Your stats are:
 STR:7
 INT:18
 WIS:14
 DEX:6
 CON:6
 CHR:13

STR:10
INT:16
WIS:14
DEX:11
CON:12
CHR:14

strength 8

intellect 17

wisdom 14

dexterity 7

Constitution 12

charisma 18

I don’t know what any of this MEANS but I ADMIRE it very much (frames with hands)

I think I might be stronger than that, because I was basing the thing of “how much you can lift over your head” on various babies or cats I can lift over my head, and I was like “well babies aren’t standardised measuring equipment” so I rounded it down.

STR:7
INT:17
WIS:14
DEX:12
CON:9
CHR:15

That is … a playable character. No way this is accurate. I’m a puny noodle with bad judgment and I get my fingers stuck in chairs.

STR:6
 INT:15
 WIS:11
 DEX:8
 CON:9
 CHR:15

I’m a little in disagreement with the dex there, but on the whole I’d say this is pretty accurate.
